Take Your Shoes Off and Stay a While!

Painted deacons bench

This bench in our entryway has seen a number of different finishes, but I really like this latest look.  It’s a little distressed, a little rustic, and a great match for the rest of our home’s color pallet.

Corner Cabinet

More often than not, I forget to take “before” pictures. This cupboard (located in our family room) was previously an interesting shade of sage green, which really didn’t match with any of the warm tones in the house. I used Aspire chalk paint in “vitality” and dark wax to transform it.

Updated Sideboard

Purple painted buffet

Painted with purple chalk paint (Aspire eminence) on the base and black latex on the top, this beautiful sideboard/buffet has been recently re-imagined. It was sealed with satin polyurethane, and embellished with new silver glass knobs and casters. Unique design allows the top to slide open for additional serving space. A definite improvement from the dated orange it was previously.

Sewing Chair

Sewing chair - painting and reupholstery

I picked up this chair not realizing that it is actually a sewing chair equipped with a drawer for storing supplies and spools of thread. I gave it a face-lift with black chalk paint and a fun fabric.

Dining Set

I picked up this dining set from a local painter for a fantastic deal. The table top was stained and scratched, the leather on the chairs was cracking, and it definitely needed a face-lift. I sanded and stained the table top, reupholstered the chairs, and painted the table base and chairs. I gave it a chippy look using light grey chalk paint, but then glazed the painted surfaces with an antiquing glaze to give them a more aged look.

Custom Dining Set

Updated dining set

So a friend wanted her grandmother’s wood dining table and six chairs updated. I painted them with Aspire endless and final finish, and then reupholstered the chairs to give them a more contemporary look.

Updated Buffet

This buffet needed some repairs to make the drawers and cupboards fit properly. It was then chalk painted grey, glazed with black, and sealed with matte polyurethane to give it an updated look.
