Painted furniture

Curbside Desk

We rescued this old desk that we found in pieces at the curb. The base was painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane in Wall Street (dark grey) and the top was refinished using Minwax Jacobean stain and a satin poly finish. The old gold drawer pulls were freshened up with a coat of Rust-Oleum in oil rubbed bronze. Now Nigel has a much more comfortable spot to do his homework. Who am I kidding…he uses it for gaming, not homework.

Two-Tiered Table

This little table was one of my first projects, so unfortunately I didn’t take great pictures of it. It was painted using Folk Art chalk paint in cascade, and given a little bling with a pretty glass knob.

Rock Maple Dining Table

This table was quite unique, in that it converted from a small drop-leaf table to a full size dining table by sliding out the legs and inserting a leaf. I painted the base with Aspire mineral chalk paint in hope (pale creamy yellow), and refinished the top with espresso Polyshades.

Entertainment Centre Turned Mudroom Cabinet

I must admit that I struggled for quite a while with what to do with this old entertainment centre that we inherited from a neighbour who was moving. I finally settled on converting it into a mudroom cabinet, perfect for kids to hang coats or backpacks and sit to put on their shoes. It was painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane in steely grey, and updated with new hardware and a modern wallpaper print inside.

Pretty Little Dresser

I decided to do something pretty and romantic with this little four-drawer pine dresser circa the 1970s. The dresser was painted using Aspire mineral chalk paint in Romance and Eminence and ASCP in Duck Egg Blue. The legs were painted silver to match the new glass knobs. Oh, and I did a little inspirational wooden sign to match. 🙂

Another Little Bedside Table

Here’s another cute little cherry bedside table that I picked up for a steal. The top and drawer were refinished with a light walnut stain, and the base was painted with Aspire mineral chalk paint in Hope. I added some bling with some pretty hand-painted knobs.

Oak Hall Table

This solid oak beauty originally stained orange was given an update with crisp white acrylic on the base and jacobean stain on the top.

Various Furniture

I really like the look of refinished wood combined folk art oatmeal chalk paint that has been slightly distressed. I’ve done multiple pieces using this combination recently.

Dining Set Overhaul

furniture refinishing

This set was given an interesting colour combination, with duck egg blue chalk paint on the table base, black satin on the chairs, and jacobean on the table top.
